Lauren Mirow Blankenship
Lauren lives and works in Portland, Oregon. She completed her Associate’s Degree from Portland Community College in 2014 and received her Bachelor of Science in Art Practices from Portland State University in the spring of 2017, magna cum laude.
Her art combines painting, video and social art practices. She is originally from Alaska and is influenced aesthetically by the freshwater ecosystems present in the Northwest. Her conceptual works look at re-conceptualizing femininity, gaining entry to inaccessible environments and honoring personal connections. She has exhibited at the White House Visitor Center in DC, the Portland Art Museum and in group shows at Portland State University.
